I love working with J in the kitchen. He gets the good ideas, and I get to help implement. One thing our family enjoys is Daddy's homemade burgers. They claim they prefer them to even Red Robin's burgers, which is saying something since it's a close second!
We're always trying to get extra goodness into these kids. This time, we mixed the ground beef with shredded carrots, grated garlic, fresh basil, minced mushrooms, some bbq sauce and an egg. They held together pretty good on the bbq, which can sometimes be an issue.
Here's the result: a thick, juicy meat patty on a romaine lettuce wrapper, topped with fresh tomato, avocado and sauteed mushrooms and onions. Salty, homemade pickles and fresh bean sprouts on the side. Delicious!
