The rose garden J planted me for our anniversary almost two years ago is lush and green, and blooms in all kinds of pink, white and yellow! This spring, an older friend recommended that I prune them back to just one or two stems per plant. So I snipped and pruned away until all that was left was a collection of sticks pointing out of the ground. Then the snow returned with a vengeance and someone else told me that it was way too early for pruning, that they would probably die. Well, here they are now.
I guess our friend Willy knows what he is talking about!
