Second Batch of Yogurt

Anxious to get another batch of yogurt going, I had the milk all heated up and ready to go.  When I opened up the leftover yogurt starter from last time, there was an unexpected, thick layer of mold!  Then I remembered that a friend had told me you can also use powdered probiotics as a starter.  So Ry got to work emptying out little gelatin capsules of probiotics to stir into the milk and we proceeded as usual.

Clean, used pickle jars are my favorite containers for yogurt since the mouths are wide enough to fit your hand in to clean them really well.  And they have the nice one-piece screwtop lid.

The yogurt took a little longer to set up in the dehydrator, but the probiotics did the job!
