Preschool Continues

We leave a small bin of educational fun stuff in a cupboard in the parent lounge at Argyll.  Wooden rings, an animal puzzle, nerf ball, memory game, toy car, wax crayons and paper.  When Ry or Kia have on-site classes here, Rz and I cuddle up on the couch and play with our fun stuff, read Curious George or Franklin paperbacks from the adjoining library or play together on the iPad.

We recently found a bag of stackable cubes and pattern cards at the Reuse Center to add to our bin.  Rz had fun (albeit brief) matching cubes to the pattern cards last Thursday while Kia wrote some provincial assessments.  It was a beautiful, sunny day so we went out to play on the school playground too, then collected some pretty leaves.  I tried to introduce him to leaf rubbings, but he had no interest in anything other than watching me do it.

Ry's teacher showed us some cool math apps to download, and Ry, Rz and I all had fun playing them while we waited for Kia.  To buy the whole suite was a little pricey, but for all of the kids to be able to practice math facts and introduce fractions and decimals, I decided it was worth it.  If you want to see it, check Motion Math on the App Store.  You can also purchase the games individually.
