Apples Galore

Looks like it's going to be a good year for apples!  The tree boughs sway dangerously close to the ground, they're so heavy with unripe fruit.  The apples are tiny now but they'll be full size eating apples by the time we pick them in September.

Happily, each of our apple trees is a different variety, so the harvest is staggered and we only have to deal with one tree's bounty at a time.  Nevertheless, thinking ahead to the apple picking harvest, I am reminded of Forest Gump's friend from the shrimp boat reiterating all the ways to eat shrimp.  Apple sauce, apple chips, apple pie, apple crisp, apple cider, apple vinegar...
